The Tree Child / An Artist’s Field Guide to Creatures of Japanese Myth

I go by Wilyn; I am a concept artist who likes to dabble with character and environmental design. The aim for this project was to illustrate and interpret the concepts of Japanese legends and folklore, including those that are lesser known. I created a field guide that gives a brief overview on where these creatures are most likely to be found, what to and not to do if one encountered them, and how to appease or escape them. Some creature pages focus primarily on the scenery in order to showcase their environment while highlighting the key aspects and characteristics of these legends.

Thank you for taking the time to view my work.
